VANPORE ash vacuum: clean ash without the dust cloud

Shoveling ash out of a fireplace or pellet stove spreads fine dust through the whole room. The VANPORE ash vacuum (model BJ131) pulls it straight into a 5.2 gallon metal container instead. Its 1200 W copper motor feeds a heat-resistant metal hose, so cooled ash, soot and pellet residue go where they belong – not on your hands or the floor.

Two filters work in series: a flame-retardant filter bag catches the coarse ash, a HEPA cartridge behind it holds back the finest particles. Plug the hose into the air outlet and the same machine becomes a blower; outside the heating season it works as a small shop vac. Filters, hose, tubes, nozzles and wheels are all available as spare parts.

What makes the VANPORE ash vac work

Four details that matter when the fireplace needs cleaning.

VANPORE Ash Vacuum BJ131 – 1200 W through a metal hose

1200 W through a metal hose

The copper motor delivers 1200 W of suction – enough to lift fine ash, soot and pellet leftovers in one pass. The 1.5 inch metal hose is heat-resistant and keeps ash flowing instead of clogging.

VANPORE Ash Vacuum BJ131 – Double filtration, reusable filters

Double filtration, reusable filters

A flame-retardant filter bag takes the bulk of the ash, a HEPA cartridge catches the finest dust. The sealed design keeps ash from blowing out of the exhaust, and both filters can be cleaned and used again.

VANPORE Ash Vacuum BJ131 – Turns into a blower

Turns into a blower

Connect the hose to the air outlet and the VANPORE pushes air instead of pulling it – handy for leaves, sawdust or snow on the patio. Outside the heating season it doubles as a small shop vac.

VANPORE Ash Vacuum BJ131 – Reaches into the firebox

Reaches into the firebox

The crevice nozzle gets into tight corners of the firebox and around the burn pot, the floor nozzle cleans flat surfaces and carpet. Aluminum tube and extension wands give extra reach.

Built for ash, not just dust

Heat-resistant metal hose

The metal hose handles ash from the stove better than the plastic hose of a household vacuum.

On three wheels

The wheeled base and a 157 in power cord let you roll the ash vac from stove to grill.

Accessories on board

Nozzles and wands slot into the base right above the wheels – nothing gets lost.

Temperature protection

A temperature control function protects the motor if it gets too hot.

How to use and care for the VANPORE ash vacuum

The key steps from the manufacturer’s instructions – from assembly to cleaning the filters.

VANPORE Ash Vacuum BJ131

  1. Attach the wheels

Fit the wheel holders with casters onto the base of the container.

  2. Insert the filters

Place the HEPA cartridge on the lid, put the flame-retardant filter bag into the container under it.

  3. Close the lid

Set the lid on the container and lock it with the side clips so it is fully sealed.

  4. Connect hose and nozzle

Plug the metal hose into the suction inlet, add the aluminum tube, extension wands and the floor or crevice nozzle.

  5. Check the ash

Only vacuum cooled ash: below 40 °C (104 °F) and without glowing embers. Never use it on hot ash.

  6. Switch on and vacuum

Plug in and press the power button. Clear larger unburnt pieces first so they do not block the 1.5 in hose.

  7. Use as a blower

To blow leaves or dust, connect the hose to the air outlet instead of the inlet.

  8. Empty and clean

Open the clips, lift out the filters and empty the container. Tap out or rinse the filters and let them dry completely.

★★★★★
“This ash vac is fantastic! This thing will clean my Englander PDV25 several times before I even think about emptying it. The small brush attachment is great for cleaning the ash from the window glass. The same tool works great for the tight area in front of the burn pot.”

Frequently asked questions

Can I vacuum warm ash?

Only cooled ash. The ash should be below 40 °C (104 °F) and must not contain glowing embers. The VANPORE is not made for hot ash.

What can I clean with the VANPORE ash vacuum?

Fireplaces, pellet stoves, wood stoves, fire pits and BBQ grills. Off season it also works as a small shop vac.

Can it blow air as well?

Yes. Connect the hose to the air outlet and it works as a blower, for example for leaves or dust.

Which filters does it use?

Two: a flame-retardant filter bag that takes the coarse ash and a HEPA cartridge behind it for the finest particles.

How do I clean the filters?

Lift them out, tap out the ash and rinse them if needed. Let them dry completely before you put them back. Both filters are reusable.

How much ash does it hold?

The metal container holds 5.2 gallons (20 liters), enough for several stove cleanings before you need to empty it.

How long are the cord and the hose?

The power cord is 157 inches (about 4 m) and the metal hose 60 inches (about 1.5 m) with a 1.5 inch diameter.

What happens if it gets too hot?

A temperature control function protects the motor. Switch it off, let it cool down and continue afterwards.

Where do I keep the nozzles?

All attachments slot into the base, right above the wheels, so they stay with the vacuum.

Are spare parts available?

Yes: HEPA filter, filter bag, metal hose, aluminum tube, extension tube, crevice tool and wheel holders, plus sets with spare filters.
